Academic Eligibility

Student Athletes must earn (pass) 4 Carnegie units (1 Carnegie unit equals 1 credit) and not have more than one failing grade to be eligible to participate (practice and games) in athletics at Hamden High School.  This is in accordance with CIAC regulations.  

Fall Sports -  a students previous year final grades will  used for eligibility purposes.  Grades will be checked again after marking period 1 if your sport is still in season.

Winter Sports - a students grades will be checked from marking period 1 and then again after marking period 2 if your sport is still in season.

Spring Sports - a students grades will be checked from marking period 2 and then again after marking period 3 if your sport is still in season.

Note:  The final grade will be used for eligibility purposes over a Marking Period grade for half-year classes.
