A HUGE shout out to recent HHS graduate Mareshah White, who sought and received $15,000 in funding to start a scholarship program to help support HHS students who have been impacted by COVID-19. The funds from the program will help graduating Hamden High School seniors with college expenses at a time when many students have greater financial needs due to the pandemic.
AT&T donated the initial $15,000 to launch the scholarship program. We are very grateful for their support. The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven helped Mareshah create the Scholarship Fund - "Courage, Opportunity, Vitality Innovation, and Drive" (Scholarship Fund for COVID! - How clever of you Mareshah to come up with that name!)
Mareshah hopes to receive more donations for this fund, so that an even greater number of students can benefit. Donations can be made online through the Foundation's website: www.cfgnh.org/hamdencovidscholarshipfund. You can even make a donation in honor or in memory of someone.
