Attention Hamden students! The Board of Education wants YOU to become our next student representative. The Student Representative helps to give voice to students about the matters brought before the Board, and is expected to provide a Student Representative report during Board of Education meetings in order to keep the Board and the public aware of student concerns and happenings.

Have a child ready for Kindergarten (Beginning in the 2024-25 school year, Connecticut will require that all children enrolling in kindergarten turn 5 years old by Sept. 1st, more information (here) or just moved into Hamden -now is the time to register!
Hamden has 8 grade K-6 elementary schools, with attendance zones designated by address. If you don't know which school your child will attend, you can find out here.

Paint Hamden Pink’s Kickoff for Breast Cancer Awareness Hamden
On Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 5 PM, the Paint Hamden Pink Committee will sponsor a kickoff for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. The event will be held at the Garden of Hope and Reflection at Hamden Town Center Park (near the Red Barn). Parking is available in the Miller Library parking lot on Dixwell Ave.
All are invited to wear pink and show support for Breast Cancer Awareness in Hamden
The rain date for the event will be Thursday, September 26th or Tuesday, October 1st at 5PM.
Produce and other food resources will be distributed at Hamden's free mobile food pantry.
This is FREE for anyone and everyone.
Hamden Public Schools with the help of the Keefe Community Center, United Way of Greater New Haven volunteers, and the Hamden Police Department will be distributing nutritious food from the CT Foodshare Mobile Food Pantry. This distribution will be every other Wednesday July 3rd- December 18th from 4:30pm-5:30pm. This is free for anyone and everyone. Just show up with bags.

The Hamden Public Schools Early Learning Program currently has openings for Hamden 3 & 4-year-olds at the Alice Peck location (35 Hillfield Road, Hamden). Contact Director Jessica Vega at 203-407-2254 for more information.
The program is 9 hours/day, 5 days a week, year-round program with a sliding scale for fees.
