June 20-24 is School Registration Week in Hamden! If you have recently moved to our town or have a child ready for Kindergarten (turning age 5 by December 31, 2020) then this is a great chance to register!
You'll need to complete a registration packet and bring proof of residency to the school your child will attend.
Hamden has 8 grade K-6 elementary schools, with attendance zones designated by address. If you don't know which school your child will attend, please call 203.407.2202, and we'll be happy to tell you which elementary school your address is in. All grades 7 and 8 students attend Hamden Middle School, and all students in grades 9-12.attend Hamden High. Registration can be completed online or by picking up a packet at one of our schools.

On the afternoon of July 8, in between the pouring rain, thunder and lightning, the Class of 2020 had one of the most amazing graduations ever!
Although certainly not a traditional Hamden graduation, many things remained the same: There was the playing of "Pomp and Circumstance," families heard speeches, graduates walked across the stage in their caps and gowns to get their diplomas. But unlike other years, since everyone 'drove in' to keep us socially distanced, families and graduates HONKED their car horns in celebration! :-)
One of the great benefits of Graduation 2020 was that families and friends got to drive-up to the stage, giving them a front-seat to see their graduates up-close as their names were read and they walked across the stage. It helped make this graduation ceremony more special than ever!
The entire graduation was live-streamed and recorded - Watch the video and relive the fun!
This was certainly a graduation that will always be remembered. Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
We are happy to report that our new electronic report card system is ready to go! Families can expect to receive their children's e-report cards via email on Monday or Tuesday, July 13 or 14. The e-report card can be printed if desired, or just saved electronically. This new, secure electronic system is not only the best way to distribute report cards during Coronavirus disruptions, it will also provide the district with cost savings in printing and postage in the coming years.
If you have changed your email address or have not recently received email from the school or district, please call your school to ensure they have the correct email address for you.
