The Board of Education will meet for organization at the first regularly scheduled meeting in December, in each odd-numbered year. 

Before acting, newly elected members will be sworn to the faithful performance of their duties by the Town Clerk or a duly authorized official. 

At this meeting, members will be called to order by the clerk of the board and will proceed to elect a chairperson and a secretary by open ballot and a number of votes that reflects a majority of Board members present and voting with at least five affirmative votes necessary for the election of the chairperson, each to serve for two years or until their successors are elected.
