The Board of Education, dedicated to providing educational facilities and programs for children from kindergarten through high school, does not view any particular grade organization as intrinsically best for defining schools.
The Board of Education will from time to time determine that distribution of age and/or grade levels in individual schools which meets the needs of the children and make most efficient use of available space, staff and money.
The Board of Education has determined that, for the time being, the grade organization of the schools in Hamden will be: K-6, elementary school; 7-8, middle school; 9-12, high school. For instructional purposes, student progress may be referred to by various levels or stages of progress.
