Club News Meetings

The Gender Equality club will meet after school on Monday, February 26 in B204. All are welcome to attend.

The HHS Green Team will be meeting on Monday, February 26 after school in Room B308. New members are welcome!

The Health Professions Club will be hosting a speaker, a pediatric psychologist, on Monday, Feb 26 right after school, Room A329. Please join us!

There will be an HRC meeting on Tuesday, February 27 in Room A310 to discuss the Wednesday's field trip.

The PRIDE Club will be hosting a fundraiser at Panera Bread on Wednesday, February 28 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Bring a copy of our flyer or show an electronic version in order to donate a portion of your purchase to the club! Please see Ms. Stamidis (B208) or Ms. Gentile (B211) for a flyer.

February is Career and Technical Education Month: Have you every asked yourself - Why do I need to learn this stuff? CTE courses teach “real world” skills and knowledge that will enhance a student’s life, both now and in the future, which can help provide them with a life-time of financial security, and career success. 


Students! Enter the Substance Abuse Prevention Billboard Design Contest. This contest is in support of the Hamden Youth Network’s prevention efforts to keep Hamden youth involved in positive activities and away from unhealthy substances such as alcohol, tobacco and drugs. The first prize winner will receive $1,000 and have their design displayed on three billboards throughout town. Download more information here.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Gateway Community College presents Women Drive! Learn the basics of automotive maintanence by GCC femail faculty, students and workforce representatives. The event will be held on Thursday, March 22 from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. Contact your student counselor or Karen Feldman by Friday, March 2.

Seniors

LAST CHANCE: SENIOR PORTRAITS!  Seniors, Lifetouch will be here ONE FINAL TIME during school hours, Friday, February 23 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Career Center. The schedule and fees can be downloaded from the HHS Yearbook site. You must get your confirmation code and confirm your appointment.

It's time to request your songs for Prom.  Use this link to submit your requests.  Make sure to click "save" to ensure that the requests get saved to the database.  Only radio edited versions will be played.  All requests must be submitted by May 11. 

 

The Green Dragon Update

The Looking Glass literary club & magazine is having a poster competition in order to promote the club and magazine!  The winner will receive a gift card and their design will be the official advertisement for the Looking Glass Literary Magazine. All submitted designs will be published on the club website. The DEADLINE is March 31. Look on the club website for more information.  


Join members of the Hamden School District Safety Committee and Trooper Kate Cummings for a discussion on Internet safety, teenage behaviors assoicated with social media and current trends and laws in Connecticut. The meeting will be held at the high school onThursday, February 22. See this flyer for more information.

Due to widespread Flu (Influenza) infections and hospitalizations, the Connecticut Vaccine Program has temporarily offered to provide Influenza vaccine to include privately insured as well as uninsured or Huskly/Medicaid insured children age 5-18. Please call 203-248-6107 or email  moms.clinic@qvhd.org and sign the Influenza consent form. Both are easy to do. Forms can be emailed or sent home with your student. In addition, the QVHD (Quinnipiac Valley Health Department) has provided this flyer for helpful information on battling this year’s flu.

  • The Parent Portal will remain open for grade 9 students through Tuesday, February 20.  The Parent Portal will remain open for upper classmen through Sunday, February 25. 
  • Counselors will begin meeting with all grade 9 students on Wednesday, February 21, and will meet with upperclassmen in the weeks following.
  • If you have any questions regarding your child’s course requests, please contact their counselor directly.  

Students taking AP Exams, please register for the exam(s) by Thursday, March 5, 2018 at www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/070260.
