"Novel Engineering" in the Media Center with Fifth Grade
Students read about a problem a character was having in the novel, "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." (Fudge, the trouble-making 2 year old brother of Peter, wouldn't keep his hands off Peter's turtle, Dribble). They worked in groups to design, build, test, and present inventions for a "Fudge-proof" turtle tank. Their inventions were amazingly creative and effective! Check out the Library Media Center page for a short video of the fifth grade engineers at work.
