As I begin my first year as principal of Church Street School, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. I believe in setting high expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met.
In my 25 years of experience as an educator, I have learned that a strong positive school culture is cultivated by recognizing that open and honest communication is an essential building block of any relationship. I also believe close cooperation between students and the adults in their lives is necessary to help each child soar! Finally, school staff and families must work together, in an extended family environment, to ensure success for all our students. It is everyone’s responsibility to teach children the skills they will need to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.
With that in mind, please consider joining our PTO, volunteering and attending school events as often as you can. Students thrive when families stay positively involved in their academic and social emotional growth.
I hope you will visit our website often to get a quick snapshot of life at our school and to find out about events, curriculum and programs. If you have any questions or need information not found on the website, I encourage you to call (203) 407-2020. I will make every effort to return calls within 24 hours of receiving a message. I am looking forward to wonderful school year!
