Student Health Services
Hamden High School offers students both Nursing Services and an on-site Student-Based Health Center (SBHC). Nursing Services include care of students with illnesses or injuries, medication administration and sports clearances. The SBHC offers more comprehensive health care, but requires the student to be enrolled by his or her parents/guardians. All Hamden High School students are eligible to receive this free service.
Both programs are housed in the high school Health Center which is located on the first floor of the A wing near the Main Office.
Elevator cards are available in the Nurse's Office for students or staff who cannot climb stairs due to illness or injury. A doctor's note is required. Failure to return the elevator card after it is no longer needed will result in a $10.00 obligation.
All 10th Graders are required to have a physical this school year. The completed paperwork must be given to the nurse by May 1. If you have any questions please call the Health Office at 203-407-2040 Ext. 5000.
Elevator cards that have been borrowed from the nurse's office must be returned by the due date! If they are needed for a longer period make arrangements with the nurse. If the cards are not returned, there will be a $10 obligation.
