The Helen Street School PTA is being recognized at the Connecticut PTA Annual Celebration and Statewide Meeting. Our PTA is being recognized for increase in membership and its efforts to connect with the community. Such efforts include two community fairs, enlisting business sponsors and promoting the school as a Mobile Food Pantry site in connection with the CT Food Bank. We are very proud of our parents, families, local businesses and staff who bless our students with their membership, commitment and participation throughout the school year. The event is held on June 6th in Bridgeport, CT.

Helen Street School Kindergarten studies the development, patterns and growth of baby chicks as part of their Science . From eggs to live animals, the students observed and examined the conditions needed for this miracle of nature to be successful as well as the daily change, behavior and personalities of the chicks. Word spread throughout the school as the first chick pecked its way out of its egg-home. Daily, many adults and students around the building would stop in for a "Chick Check-in" as the Kindergarteners proudly gave updates on the progress of the babies.
