2021-22 School Year Lunches
Good news! For school year 2021-22, the Hamden Public School District has opted to participate in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the National School Lunch Program. This means that all students enrolled in Hamden Public Schools will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge.
However, it remains critical that you complete and submit your free and reduced-price meal application to Hamden Public Schools in order to determine eligibility for other programs, like the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), discounted technology and WiFi programs, and more.
The CT Department of Public Health (DPH) collaborates with the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) to provide Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) services throughout the state of Connecticut. SNAP-Ed is a federally funded grant program that supports evidence-based nutrition education for persons eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
The SNAP-Ed goals are to encourage SNAP recipients to make healthy food choices within a limited budget and to be physically active.
