Hamden Middle School
Fall Sports Update 

Today, student athletes met with Mr. Robert Mandel, HMS Athletic Coordinator, to learn about the try-out process for the girls soccer team, boys soccer team, and girls volleyball team. I attended the meeting, and I am sending information pertinent home to parents. 

Fall Sports Notes:

• Students are encouraged to try-out. Teams have a limited number of players, and coaches will have to select a small group of students to participate. If students do not make the team, they should explore other clubs and intramural activities. 

• Students should dress appropriately and bring water bottles to try-out sessions.

• Students must be picked up at the designated time in the front of the building. Please be on time! 

• Students must have a current medical physical; medical physicals cover a 13-month window. Please submit medical physicals to the school nurses, Ms. Julie Beaver or Ms. Patty Zehall. 

• Students must submit a completed HPS Eligibility / Permission to Participate and Travel form. 

• Student athletes are required to focus on academic achievement, maintain passing grades, and model exemplary behavior.
