Here are the events and news items that are happening at Bear Path this week and in prior weeks.
Bear Path students are amazing! Enter the Student Gallery to see some pictures of our students in action!
Every month, the superintendent honors one student from each school. We couldn't be prouder of our students!
Congratulations to Maya DiMauro, one of our 5th grade Bear Path students and a National Invention Convention award winner for her innovative and beneficial product, survIVe!
Maya took home three awards, the Cantor Colburn Patent Application Award, the Global Impact Award for Market Potential, and 3rd place in her grade category for survIVe. "My invention makes the experience of receiving IV treatments more comfortable and less scary for pediatric patients," she says. "It is a soft pillow sized to a patient's arm using three adjustable straps. It houses a traditional armboard located in a pocket under the pillow and includes a detachable stuffed animal for distraction and comfort."
Kudos also go to Hamden teachers Lisa Kingston and Shelby Irwin for their role in bringing the Invention Convention to our students!
As you know, all Hamden Public Schools are closed due to the Coronavirus. Although essential staff may be in our buildings, our schools and central office are currently closed to the public.
Related to school meals, breakfast and lunch are available Monday - Friday, from 9:00-12:00 each morning at Hamden High, Hamden Middle and Church Street Schools. Any child 18 years and younger is eligible for these meals, which can be picked up by students or parents/guardians.
We have created a page to provide Hamden Public Schools updates during the Coronavirus pandemic. Please regularly check www.Hamden.org/Coronavirus for current information affecting the Hamden Public Schools community.
