Summer Reading 2016
The HHS Library Media Center is open this summer! Use Destiny, our online catalog to search for summer reading books. Search by author, title, genre, and subject! The library is open on the following Wednesdays from 9:00 am - 12 noon: June 29, July 13 and 20, August 3 and 10.

2016 CT Reads--The Connecticut State Reading Challenge theme this year is SPORTS. The state's recommended lists include sport themed titles, as well as popular and classic titles.
www.ala.org/yalsa/teenstopten--The Teens' Top Ten is a "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year!
www.goodreads.com--Goodreads is an excellent interactive website for book lovers. You can read book reviews and ratings here, and search by genre.
www.ala.org/yalsa/alex-awards--The Alex Awards are given to ten books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults, ages 12 through 18.
www.ala.org/yalsa/printz-award--The Michael L. Printz Award is an award for a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature.
2016 and 2015 best of the best--Provided by the Young Adult Library Services, this is a short list of the best book for teens in all genres. Brief descriptions for each title are included.
