Typing Program Available Free to Hamden Public School Families!
Being able to type effectively is now an “essential skill” for all. Hamden has acquired a typing program that students can use at home or at a Hamden library, Type to Learn 4 (TTL4), is a program designed to improve student typing speed and accuracy by teaching how to type more efficiently. Type to Learn 4 includes both lessons, quizzes and typing games.
How to Get the Program for Your Home Computer
For use at home, students will need to download and install the program to their home computer at http://ttl4.sunburst.com/downloads/ . Download time will take approximately 30 minutes or longer, depending on the speed of your connection. You can confirm that your computer meets the Technical Requirements before installing Type to Learn 4. These are included in the User Guide, available on the download site: http://ttl4.sunburst.com/downloads/ . After downloading and installing the TTL4 program, your child can login to the application with his or her school username and password, then the account code 149494. If your child does not know his/her username or password, please contact Tamara Benson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you can’t download the program onto a home computer, there are also many free online typing sites. A Google search of “online typing games” or “online typing lessons” will reveal many of these sites that may be both fun and valuable for your child.
With either TTL4 or an online typing site, we encourage you to get your child’s fingers typing!
